Kiosk mode is ideally suited for when the iPad is going to be placed in a public area where multiple people will have access to the device (waiting rooms, trade shows, etc.). This is to prevent the customer or patient from being able to view another person’s record. You want to present the iPad to the user but limit his or her accessibility when filling out the form. Once the form is filled out, a Submit button can be tapped to save the record and clear the screen for the next person to fill out the form. Another advantage of kiosk mode is that records will not be visible to other users.
Kiosk mode worked great when there is a single form to fill out. It did not work so well when you have multiple forms to fill out. This is because it requires a menu system whereby the user can select from various forms to fill out.
With latest version of the FormConnect Pro+ app, we now support the ability to create menu choices from within kiosk mode. This gives the customer the ability to choose from multiple forms and automate the saving of the form.
