When you lock a record, you are locking it permanently. When you tap on the “lock” icon on the menu bar, a pop-up menu appears notifying you that no further data input is allowed. The purpose of this feature is to prevent further changes to the document once it had been filled out. The intent is to safe guard the integrity of the document so there is no question as to its authenticity.
