A common question asked is whether data that has been collected in another application (spreadsheet, database, etc.) can be imported into FormConnect and populated into an existing form? The answer is yes. The solution is to convert the data into a file format that both apps can read. FormConnect can import a CSV or XML formatted file. Below are instructions on how to import data into an existing form.
Importing from a CSV file:
1. Create the form first.
2. Save the Excel spreadsheet or other app into a CSV file.
3. Make sure the field names on your form and the CSV file match (they’re case sensitive).
4. Email the CSV file to yourself or store it in a Dropbox folder where you would have access to it on your iPad.
5. Tap on the file and select the Open In (FormConnect) option.
6. Select which form to import.
