When Should You Use a Radio Button Versus a Checkbox Field?

Radio buttons look very similar to checkbox fields and the two are often confused when designing a form. They both allow you to create a list of choices to select from. The difference between the two is that a radio buttons only allow you select from one item on the list whereas checkboxes allow you to select from as many items on the list as you wish.
