A customer of ours had a survey form that they needed to fill out up to 200 times for one of their clients. They were looking for a way to speed up the data entry process as some of the data on the form was redundant such as the contact information on page 1 (client’s name, site location, job number, and the engineer’s name). Ideally, they were looking for a way to clone that contact information so they could save some time during the data input process. Their question was when beginning a new survey, was there a way for this contact information to be copied and transferred each time they filled out a new survey form?
The answer is Yes if they are running either the FormConnect Pro or FormConnect Pro+ app. Both these apps support the ability to replicate data. Below are the steps to follow:
1. Edit each field on the form that you wish to clone and tick the field setting Copy field when cloning.
2. Save your changes and close the form editor.
3. Tap on the “Clone” button on the toolbar.
4. A new record will have been created that copied the fields that you wished to replicate.
