Most organizations have one person designated to create the forms for their company when using the FormConnect app. This person may already have some expertise in the designing of forms or expressed an interest in learning this skill. It’s not a difficult skill to master and most people become proficient within a few days of working with the FormConnect app.
There is one form setting that those that create forms should be aware of and that is the setting “Lock form designer on export.” This setting, which is normally turned ON, prevents other users from altering the basic layout of the form. This is a good thing in that you don’t want other users from making changes to the form and then have various versions being utilized in the field. However, there is one down side to this setting. Since only the creator of the form can make changes, if this person were to leave the company and take their iPad with them, then no further changes could take place. To prevent this from occurring, the owner of the form should export their form with the “Lock form designer on export” OFF and store it where others would have access to it in case they were to leave the company.
