Apple Sold 4.69 million iPads in Q2 2011

Apple sold 4.69 million iPads during the 2nd quarter of 2011. According to COO Tim Cook “Demand for the iPad 2 has been staggering and heavily backlogged.” Other highlights included 75% of Fortune 500 companies are now testing/deploying iPads.

It’s the Fortune 500 information that I find most interesting. The iPad was supposedly a consumer device, but it appears that large and small companies are viewing it as an appealing device for all kinds of business applications. That was the premise for the FormConnect product. To create an app that would capture data on the iPad and share it with others within the organization.
