Sharing a Form and Saving a Record

There are many different ways to use the FormConnect app. One way is by how you share the form with other FormConnect users and how you save the data. There are five steps to this process.

1. Designing the Form.
2. Sharing the Form.
3. Filling Out the Form
4. Exporting the Form.
5. Sharing the Filled Out Form

Step 1: Designing the Form
One person within the company is assigned the role to create the form. It entails choosing a template and then selecting the field types (text, date, checkboxes, drop-lists, photos, logos, signatures, etc.) that you wish to include on your form. This process can be completed in as little as one day but further tweaking may be required.

Step 2: Sharing the Form Template
Once you have created your form, you’re going to want to share it with other FormConnect users. You can email the form to these users or upload it to a shared folder that everyone has access to and allow them to download the form.

Step 3: Filling Out the Form
Each time you fill out the form, you create a permanent record that is stored within the FormConnect app. You have access to each form that was filled out and can retrieve it at any time.

Step 4: Exporting the Form
A filled out form can be exported in one of six file formats (FMC, PDF CSV, XML, HTML, JSON). How you intend to utilize the data collected will determine which file format you select. The FMC format is used when you want to share the form with another FormConnect user. The PDF format is used when you want to provide someone else with a copy of the completed form (E.q., customer, office). The CSV format is mostly used when importing into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

Step 5: Sharing the Filled Out Form (Email, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box)
As mentioned in step 3, a filled out form creates a permanent record. This record can be shared with your customer or to your office HQ by exporting as in step 4. It can be shared via email or by uploading the record to a shared folder that everyone has access to via one of the 3rd party cloud services.
