Over the past months, the University College London has been undertaking a project to catalogue all of the major research equipment throughout the university. Visiting individual laboratories with iPads running FormConnect, they have collected equipment information and photos for over 1,400 items. They then exported the data as a CSV and uploaded it into their catalogue software, Kit-Catalogue (www.kit-catalogue.com). Using the FormConnect app has saved them a lot of time and avoided having to record item details by hand or excessive work with spread sheets. The catalogue itself is now live at www.research-equipment.ucl.ac.uk.
