One of the new features in v1.4 is the ability to extract the photographs from your form when you export it into another file format such as Microsoft Excel. There is a setting “Embed Images as data for CSV and XML” for how to handle images when exporting a form. If the setting is “OFF”, the images will be converted into jpg files when exported. If the setting is “ON”, they will be stored in a binary format.
